Paul Aaron Rogers, 40, of Munster, Indiana, passed into eternal life on Saturday, November 4, 2023, after a long struggle with Huntington’s Disease. He is survived by his adoring son, Aiden Hetler-Rogers, his faithful mother, Cindy (nee Bernsley) Rogers, and many additional loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul and his uncle, Philip Rogers. He was accompanied in death by his sister, Nicole Rogers, who passed into eternal life on the same day, after her own long struggle with Huntington’s Disease.
He was a big fan of the Chicago White Sox, Bears, and Bulls, and loved following just about any sport. Paul was an avid reader and especially loved to read biographies and learn as much as he could about history. He graduated from Munster High School in 2001. Paul was a member of Southside Christian Church in Munster, IN. Paul attended Lincoln Christian University in Lincoln, Illinois. While in school he served as a youth minister at Deep River Church of Christ. Above all, Paul was a faithful Christian and desired more than anything to know Christ, and to share that knowledge through preaching and teaching and especially through song. Paul loved music, and was a gifted singer and songwriter. He composed many songs with a range of themes from argyle socks to preparing for the Second Coming of Christ.
Because of his faith, even in the midst of his long struggle with Huntington’s Disease he was inspiringly joyful and when asked how happy he was on a scale of 1 to 10 would respond “10!” While short, Paul’s life was a life lived with the deepest meaning and contagious joy. May his memory be eternal!
