Peter Perez, beloved husband to Francisca Perez, loving brother to Mary Minerva Guerra, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle passed away surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Julia and Pete Perez. Peter was a lifelong resident of East Chicago. He was born and raised in the city he cherished and lived in his hometown, finding joy and pride in the community that shaped him.
Peter was a devoted Cubs fan, faithfully cheering for his team through every season. His love for baseball reflected his loyalty and optimism—qualities that defined his life. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Army veteran, carrying with him the values of duty and honor throughout his life. More than anything, Peter was a provider and protector, always ensuring that his family was cared for and supported. His presence was a source of strength, and his kindness touched everyone who knew him.
He will be remembered as a loving man whose legacy lives on in the generations he nurtured. Peter’s role as a husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle brought him immense joy, and his family will carry forward his spirit of devotion, humor, and resilience.
Peter’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him, and his life will continue to inspire us through the stories shared and the traditions he passed down.
