Petronella "Pet" Kuiper

Petronella "Pet" Kuiper, age 98, of Gary, IN passed away peacefully in her home July 3, 2020. She was born on August 6, 1921 to Herman and Johanna Porter. On March 27, 1943, she was married to Dick Kuiper. To this union five children were born: Rick, Herman, Jo, Jill and Bryan.  

She is survived by: children, Herman Kuiper, Jo Blink, Jill (Ed) Johnson, and Bryan Kuiper; grandchildren Jeff Krygsheld (late Darcy), Jerry (Dawn) Kuiper, Darla (Chris) Kinkade, Dawn (Mike) McCoy,  Darick (Lisa) Kuiper, Matthew Kuiper, Jaime (James) Woods, Tara (Dean) Caldwell, Dirk Johnson, Debra (Brian) Doorn, and Drew Johnson; 23 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; sister Gerrie (Rog) Triemstra, brother Norm (Barb) Porter; and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by: husband Dick Kuiper, son Rick Kuiper, son-in-law Myron Blink, and her granddaughter Darcy Krygsheld.

Pet lived a full and blessed life dedicated to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As a member of New Life Church in Highland, IN, she loved going to Coffee Break, helping out at church picnics, and in her younger years was a Calvinette Counselor. Outside the church, she enjoyed serving in the Highland Christian Ladies Auxiallary, an Elim Key Lady, and on Elim's Women's Service Board. Prior to her getting sick, she was faithful in sending out cards to the sick or just thinking of you cards to others. She also loved watching her grandchildren when they were involved in sports. She was known by her kind words, sweet smile, and positive attitude. She adored family and loved spending time with them. 

Visitation and the service will be private on Thursday July 9, 2020. 

In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made to New Life Church, Illiana Christian High School or Highland Christian School.
