Philip Lee Anderson

Philip Lee Anderson, age 88, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife Marilynne (nee Ifland) Anderson; children, Philip (Debbie) Anderson, Sandra Wayco (Jim Mohoi), Mary Ortman, and David Anderson,; grandchildren, Melissa, Elizabeth, Lindsay, Amanda, Rachel, Stacey, Steffanie, Kaylee, Rebecca, Brittany, Patrick, and Zachary, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by son, John Anderson; parents, Russell and Monica Anderson; brother, Gilbert Anderson, sisters Gwendolyn Reagan and Rosemary Weist.

Phil was born on December 7, 1935 in Boswell, IN, and he was a 1953 graduate of Earl Park High School. He proudly served our country in the Army from October  27, 1954 to October 11, 1956. He married his beautiful wife on April 25, 1959, and they settled in Highland, In to raise their family. He retired from Acme Steel as a Maintenance Forman with 38 years of service.

He spent many weekends on the golf course and, once retired, took many trips to Minnesota fishing at their favorite resort Kilworry.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend, and will be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 25, 2024  at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Funeral Service at 8:00 pm.
