Phyllis Uram

Phyllis Ann Uram (nee Irby) passed away and entered heavens internal gates on Friday June 27, 2025.

Phyllis is survived by her loving husband David Rybicki, son Dale Uram, Granddaughter Lynsey (Hunter) Rattray-Elizondo and Great Grandsons Waylon and Johnny and the arrival of Dierks in November.

Phyllis is also survived by her brother Jerry(Karen) Irby of Michigan, Dick(Cathy) Donnelly, Gene(Ann) Uram, Jimmy(Janice) Uram all from Northwest Indiana, and sister Flo Mose of Florida. She also had many nieces and nephews and so, so many friends. Phyllis is preceded in death by her first love Johnny Uram and her parents James Irby and Robbie Lee Campbell.

Phyllis was a women of faith and had the most beautiful spirit and kind heart. She loved everyone that entered her path. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for many decades and loved her Sorority Sisters deeply. Phyllis taught CCD at St Thomas More School for 51 years and she adored her 1st grade class every year. She was a bus driver for the school town of Munster for many years and also was a teachers aid for Eads Elementary school in Munster. She also worked as a bookkeeper at the Hammond Times Newspaper. Phyllis will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her. She was such an amazing person and cared about everyone in her life and touched everyone's hearts. Phyllis will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her and meeting her.

A wake will be held Tuesday July 1, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas More, 8501 Calumet Ave, Munster, IN 46321 at 10:00 am Wednesday, July 2, 2025. Interment at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
