Ralph Mason died peacefully at his home on April 24, 2025. Ralph was 85 years old. He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Mason, and their children, Kevin (Michelle) Mason, Travis Mason, Taylor Mason, Heather (Joshua) Mason-Ladd, and Matthew Mason; his first wife, Jean Wasson, and their child, Jonathon (Becky) Mason; grandchildren, Luis, Tyler, Alexx, Dakota (Gage), Hunter, Gabe, and Summer; 8 great-grandchildren; his brother, Randall Mason; and sister, Vallie Philips; numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by parents, Isaac Franklin and Grace (Rawls) Mason; one daughter, Joan Mary Mason; one grandchild, Raine Mason; one great grandson, Axel Hagler; and four siblings, Ike, Bob, Dianne, and Hunter.
Ralph was born on February 25, 1940 in Ottawa, IL. He lived and went to school in Ogelsby, Annawan, and Geneseo, IL. He graduated high school in 1959. He attended Western Illinois and Northern Illinois Universities majoring in Business Administration and Agriculture. He worked in the Mill, Food, and Paint Industries. He enjoyed learning and tackling new challenges. He was a teacher, a salesman, a painter, and an entrepreneur. Ralph married Alice in 1971 and settled in Schererville, IN.
Ralph never met a stranger. He made friends wherever he went. He loved reading, talking shop with friends, haggling for antiques, working on cars, going to car shows, and hanging out with family. Every Friday, he would roll up his sleeves and make homemade pizza for his family and most of the neighborhood kids.
Ralph’s greatest success is the family he loved and cherished. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. He will truly be missed by all the lives he touched.
The memorial service will be held on, Saturday, May 10th, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
