Ramona Faye Moore (Nee Snodgrass),84, of Cedar Lake, IN, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020. She was known was Aunt Monie and Monie and was born June 5, 1935 to Murrell and Edna Snodgrass (Nee Stutler).
She grew up in Hammond and attended Hammond Tech. During this time is when she got her first tattoo.
She met Joseph Moore in youth group at Central Baptist Church in East Chicago. They were Married Sept 15, at Christian Fellowship Church in Hessville, Indiana with Warren Wiersbe officiating.
She worked at LaSalle Steel for 15 years and then became the best stay at home mom.
Joe and Ramona were a longtime residents of Highland Indiana from 1967-2003
She enjoyed cross stitching, baking and cooking. She was an avid book reader, sewed and made the best variety of Christmas cookies. Her favorite hobby was being with her grandkids. She always had the best band aids and popsicles.
She was the epitome of being the hands and feet of Jesus with a very personal relationship with Christ her savior. She attended Suburban Bible Church in Highland, Indiana for over 40 years where she participated in numerous Bible studies and taught Sunday school. She was part of various programs to serve the community and missions. She personally supported the greeting card and postal service by sending several cards every day to friends and family.
She is survived in Death: Daughters Elizabeth Reynhout (Ne Moore), Son in law James Reynhout, Grandchildren Gerrit, Austin and Jena Reynhout. Christy Thompson (NA Moore), Son in law Erik Thompson, Grandchildren Caitlyn West (Na Thompson) and grandson in law Rick West. Carmen Thompson. Sisters and many niece’s nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Joseph Moore.
Friends are invited to visit with the family Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am with a Celebration of Life Service to be held at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
If friends would like to contribute in her memory, Hospice of the Calumet area, William J Riley Memorial Residence where we were all comforted in her last days.
