Raymond Lowa Alford born August 17, 1959, peacefully passed away March 24, 2026.
Ray is survived by Lindalee Alford (spouse); sister, Kim (Ramon) Cloud; brothers, Roy (Patty) Alford and Richard Alford. One aunt, Jewell Wilson; mother-in-law, Esther Gutierrez; sisters-in-law, Rosie Gutierrez and Christine (Mauro) Gonzalez; brother-in-law, John Gutierrez. Step-daughter, Dayna (Mark) Thompson, grandchildren Lukas and Trinity Thompson; stepson, Derek (Brooke) Serbon, grandchildren Kennedy and Adeline Serbon.
Proceeded in death by parents, John and Cathy Alford, father-in-law, John Gutierrez and brother-in-law, Joe Gutierrez.
Ray was born in Providence Rhode Island on August 17, 1959 to John and Cathy Alford.
The family moved to Black Oak, Indiana in 1961 where Ray attended Grissom Elementary School and Calumet High School, class of 1977. He worked for Enbridge Energy and retired in 2024.
Ray loved many different sports. He played baseball starting at Black Oak Little League continuing to play thru high school. He also played basketball while attending Calumet. After high school, he enjoyed bowling, earning a 300 ring. He also enjoyed golfing with friends. Basically anything that involved a ball... he loved to do! Ray also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and going on trips with fellow bikers.
Ray enjoyed spending time with his numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
He was always willing to give a helping hand and genuinely enjoyed socializing.
He will be missed!
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 from 3-7pm at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN.
Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 10:00am at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Parnell officiating.
Interment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN.
