Raymond Escamilla Obituary

Raymond Escamilla, 68

Raymond Escamilla entered into his eternal home on Monday, January 4, 2021. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Escamilla. Raymond and Mary were parents to seven children: Ray Escamilla, Jr. (Julia), Christopher Escamilla (deceased), Steven Escamilla (Karrie), Kristin Escamilla, Lisa Alicea (Jeremias), Stephanie and Michael Escamilla. Their grandchildren are as follows: Raymond, Gabriella, Jessica, Alexis, Destiny, Alyssa, Jonathan, Jaxon, Isaiah, Angel, Noah, Katelyn, Christopher, Joseph, Jonah, and Gloria. Their great-grandchildren are Aiden and Isaiah Jr. Raymond was preceded in death by his brothers, Art, Savas, Joe, and Jesse, and is survived by his loving sister Lupe Hernandez.

Raymond was born on October 8, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois. Since 1970, Raymond was heavily involved within the steel industry and over the course of his career, he’d established solid employment with three major steel and crane operation companies (LTV, Mi-Jack, and ITS). Raymond was also a devout member of Laurel Another Chance Church, where he attended and served faithfully as a musician and a pillar within the church community.  Raymond was a die-hard White Sox, Bears, and Notre Dame fan who was also an avid collector of Oakley’s, but it was rivaled only by his love of Ricobene’s and Maxwell Street Polishes. Nothing meant more to him than his family. He always made a big deal about his kids and grandkids and he celebrated them often. He will be dearly missed.
