Raymond Luniewski, 64, of Highland, IN passed away in the home he built 27 years ago on Thursday, October 22, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Gale, his twin daughters Tara and Teagan (Mario Kloc), and the multitude of loving family members that make up his in-laws "The Lyman Family." Ray was preceded in death by his parents Bruno and Ann, his brother Ron, his brother-in-law Bob Gagnon, and many bandmates.
Ray was an accomplished and talented musician in his early years. He lit up local bars, venues, and weddings with his guitar, bass, and vocal skills in many bands such as "Looker" and "Sweet Revenge." After many years enjoying the music scene, Ray started in the construction business and began his his true life's work building homes. His business "Arbor Construction and Development" thrived for many years where he built and remodeled hundreds of homes including the subdivision "Seberger Farms" in his beloved hometown of Highland, IN. In 1991, Ray and his wife Gale welcomed their twin girls into the world. He never stopped reminding them that of all of his accomplishments, being a father was by far his greatest one.
Ray was a longtime member and Previous Exalted Ruler of the Highland Elks Lodge 981 where he was affectionately called "Ray Lou." He enjoyed bowling, skiing, golf, reading historical books, building model train sets, a good glass of bourbon, listening to music on his back deck, and telling lavish stories about his past adventures.
A Memorial Gathering will be held for Ray at the Highland Elks Lodge on November 7, 2020, beginning at 2:00 PM. Family and friends are welcome to visit with Ray's family from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed shortly after by a formal service.
