Raymond Veenstra

Raymond Veenstra, 88, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020. He is survived by: children Beth McBride (Larry), Judy Scheeringa (John), Mary Porter (Dale), Ray Veenstra, Bill Veenstra, Joan Bardolph (Mark), nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, siblings Jenny (Ray) VanderWall, Elsie (Rich) Zuidema, and in-laws Gert (Lawrence) Scheeringa, Elaine (Garret) Holleman, Carol (June) Holleman, John Holleman, and Chris Holleman. Preceding him in death was his wife, Wilma.

Ray grew up helping on his family's farm. He joined the air force during the Korean War and was an aircraft mechanic. He was a member of Christian Reformed Church and recently the United Reformed. He had his own plumbing business and also worked 25 years at Highland School System. He lived in the home he build with his father for 54 years in Griffith. 

Visitation will be Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm with a Funeral Service to begin immediately following at 5:00 pm.
