Reda Ann Fortenbury (nee Jett) age 73 of Hammond, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on January 11, 2025.
She is survived by Her loving and dedicated husband of 51 years, James R. Fortenbury; her sons Eric (Angela) Fortenbury; Kyle Fortenbury; her daughter Carey (Tom) Gaddis; her 4 grandchildren – Noah R. Gaddis; Ethan J. Fortenbury; Caleb J. Gaddis; and Allyson O. Fortenbury; her sister Connie (Emil/Bill) Bergner; her brother Clinton (Tami) Jett along with many nieces & nephews; cousins; along with church family. Reda was preceded in death by her parents Walter & Christine Jett.
Reda was born on September 5, 1951, in Hammond, Indiana. She graduated from Bloom High School in Sauk Village, Illinois in 1971. She was an active member of Abundant Life Community Church (formerly known as Hammond Church of God of Prophecy) her entire life. Reda enjoyed crafting, sewing, & scrapbooking. She was a loving Nana who genuinely enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren. She loved being an encouragement to others around her and loved to laugh, play games; and have a good time with friends and family.
Reda will be loved, remembered; and missed by all who knew her!
Visitation will be Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am with a Funeral Service at 11:30 am. Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
