Renee Haan

Renee Haan, age 68, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

She is survived by her loving husband, Douglas Haan, children, Christine (Ken) Scholma, and Bradley (Katherine) Haan, grandchildren, Peyton and Addison Scholma, and Colton, Reese, and Charlotte Haan, and sibling Eileen Schaap.

Preceded in death by parents Harry (Ozzy) and Shirley Terpstra and sister Diane Haan

Renee was born on April 12, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois and was a 1975 graduate of Illiana Christian High School. On August 14, 1976, she married her high school sweetheart, Douglas Haan and they shared 49 years together, witnessing God’s continual faithfulness as they raised their family.

Renee was the most joyful when she was spending time with her five grandkids. She also loved attending Broadway musicals in her favorite city, Chicago. You would often find Renee talking and laughing with family and friends while sipping on a peppermint mocha at Starbucks.

Renee was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend and will be truly missed by all whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 3:00-6:00 PM at Suncrest Church 10009 Parrish St., St. John, IN. Funeral services will immediately follow at 6:00 PM at Suncrest Church.

Internment services will be held at Memory Lane Memorial Park, Schererville, IN on Saturday, August 23 at 10:00 AM for family members only.
