Richard Cattan

In loving memory of Richard Cattan, 64 years of age, who passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022. Richard was born on Sept. 7th 1957 to Ricardo and Celia Cattan. He was born in East Chicago, IN. Grew up in Gary and longtime resident of Hammond. Graduated from Andrean High.

Worked in the steel mills as a crane operator and loved bowling and a game of poker.

His favorite team sports, Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks and the Bulls.

He is survived by two sons Elijah (Letty), Matthew, 1 daughter Sherri Cattan, two brothers David, San Antonio, TX, Martin, Schererville, one sister Sally Cattan Leal, Crown Point. Two nephews Michael and Jason Leal and 3 Nieces Destiny Castillejas, Adrianna Cattan and Christy Leal, 13 grandkids Lilliana, Trinity, Josiah, Jiraiya, Estrella, Matthew Jr., Amaya, Elias, Melody, Angelina, Reymundo, Isabella, Gabriella and extended cousins.

He loved to joke around and always made you laugh. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren which were both the love of his life. He will be missed tremendously.

He was preceded in death by his father Ricardo Cattan and mother Celia Cattan.

A visitation will be held Monday, June 20, 2022 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Road) Highland, Indiana, 46322 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery.
