Richard Sines Obituary

Richard E. Sines, aged 81, gracefully departed this world on Monday, March 4th, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife, Connie, children Tracy Sines, Paul (Alicia) Sines, and Kimberly Sines; grandchildren Amelia and Hunter; sister Penny (Bill) Dickason, sister-in-law Paula Kalitzke, and many nephews and nieces.

Preceded in Death by his parents Charles Joseph and Gaynell Sines.

Rich was born in East Chicago, IN on September 27, 1942. He lived in Munster until 1951. His family then moved to Neodesha, Kansas where they lived until 1959 before returning to Munster. He graduated from Hammond High School in 1960. He then went on to proudly serve in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. On May 16, 1970, he married the love of his life Connie. They shared 53 years in Griffith raising their family. Rich worked many years at Main Sporting Goods in East Chicago, before opening his own business, Off-Side Soccer Shop.

In his free time, he loved watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears. Rich looked forward to the Friday meetings with his Men’s Group at First United Methodist Church in Crown Point. However, his greatest joy in life was his grandkids, Amelia and Hunter.

Rich was known for his sense of humor and one-liners. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend and will be missed by all whose lives he touched.

In Honor of Rich’s memory donations can be made to Combat Cookies. Your contribution will continue his legacy of kindness and support for those who bravely serve our country.
