Robert Lee Dixon

Robert Lee Dixon age 93, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

He is survived by his supportive son-in-law, Arthur (Susan) Gross; devoted granddaughter, Nikki (David) Millsap; great-grandchildren, Vanessa, Josilyn, Sabrina, Selena, Nathan and Nalaly; and great-great-grandchildren, Paislee, Peyton, Logan, Remi and Annie; siblings Ruth Hardin and Rose Jefferson. 

Preceded in death by his loving wife, Thelma Faye Dixon; parents, Ed and Louis Dixon, and daughter, Susan (Dixon) Gross; siblings Bill Dixon, Buddy Dixon, Ruby Dixon and Jack Dixon. 

Bob was born April 9, 1932 and was born and raised in Paoli, IN. He then went on to proudly serve our country in the US Army. Bob retired from Hammond Lead in Hammond, IN and was a lifelong member of the VFW, American Legion, Moose and Eagle Lodges.

He enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening and visiting with his family on a daily basis. He was the best Papa to all of his grandchildren, leaving them all with his wisdom and wit to be passed on through generations. Bob was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Funeral Services will be held privately on Friday, May 23, 2025 at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN.
