Obituary

Robert "Bob" McKechnie, 82, of Highland, IN. passed away Friday, March 6, 2020.  He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years Linda, beloved children: Mark (Carol) McKechnie, Patrick (Sandy) McKechnie, Todd (Michele) McKechnie, Kimberly (Joseph) Lach, Kevin McClellan, ten loving grandchildren: Megan (CJ) Sun, Mark Robert, Michael, Tyler, Olivia, Todd Jr., Kaylin, David, Daniel, Katherine, beloved great grandson Timothy, special sister Kathryn Boling, and many additional loving family and friends.  Bob was preceded in death by wife Jo in 1997.  

A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2020 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM, with a Masonic Service at 7:00 PM, at Hillside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road, Highland, Indiana 46322.  A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, beginning at 10:00 AM.  Burial at Chapel Lawn Cemetery.

Robert was a member of Ridge United Methodist Church, the Schererville McKinley Masonic Lodge, retired from Kaiser Aluminum and Dolton Extrusion after 42 years of service and where he also was a past president of the Steel Workers Union before moving into management.  Bob will be forever remembered by his family as the toughest man who ever lived.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Arthritis Foundation in Bob's honor would be appreciated.
