Roberta "Bonnie" DePra - Goodman

Roberta “Bonnie” DePra – Goodman, age 85, peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025, surrounded by love and comfort.

Born on December 29, 1940, in Gary, Indiana, Bonnie was a proud graduate of Lew Wallace High School and a lifelong resident of Lake County, IN. She lived a vibrant life filled with deep connections, joyful traditions, and a devotion to those she loved most.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Reno and Suzanne (Nandor) DePra. She is survived by her two beloved children, Suzan Cassady and Jon Goodman; her devoted friend, John (Jack) Brys; and her loving brother, Albert (Beverly) DePra.

She leaves behind four adored granddaughters: Amber Goodman, Melissa (Justin) Kough, Krystal Cassady, and Ali (Kevin) Juris: great-grandchildren: Cassady, Leo, Bennett, and Ozzy. Bonnie was also loved by numerous nieces, nephews, and many furry feline companions who brought her endless joy.

Bonnie treasured time spent at the lake with family, often found riding her jet ski, tending to her garden, or cooking meals that brought everyone together. She brought warmth, laughter, and kindness to every moment and every person in her life.

A loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, Bonnie’s spirit will continue to shine in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be missed deeply and remembered always with love.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local animal shelter in her honor.

A private family service will be held to honor Bonnie’s Life.
