Rogelio Perez Lopez was a man who touched many lives throughout his own. He was a brother to 5 siblings, Lila, Dora, Elda, Laura, and Luis. He was preceded in death by his brother, Luis and mother, Maria. He was a devoted husband of 42 years to wife Laura and was a loving father to his three children Daniel (Melissa), David (Megan), and Irene (Josh) Schafer. He was a caring and generous grandfather to his 6 grandchildren Emmarie, Maisie, Elena, Elias, Evan, and Isla and Godfather to Hailey and Lilly.
He was described by many as a man of God, sharing his works and skills to so many parishioners throughout the years. As an avid handyman, Roy could fix just about anything. Roy was a selfless individual that devoted his life to helping others,
sometimes to a fault.
Over the years, Roy’s health had many ups and downs, but his faith and charitable works never faltered. Whether someone needed help with a remodel, roof repair, or mowing lawns, despite how he felt physically, he always made time for those
in need.
He was also a stubborn man, never saying no, never stopping or slowing down. He always needed to get the job done or the task completed. Rest was hardly a word in his vocabulary.
Sometimes, he pushed himself too hard and would pay the price the next day, but to Roy, it was a job well done. He never did anything half-ass.
A man who always found an opportunity to crack a joke or make someone’s day with his smile and big, booming laugh. He never went anywhere without his trusty bib overalls, for they were made for every occasion and a pocket for every tool.
Roy left this world peacefully Saturday, February 7th surrounded by family. Visitation will be from 4-6pm, followed by service and celebration of life at 6pm at Faith Church Munster, 8411 Columbia Ave, Munster, IN 46321, Friday, February 13 , 2026. In lieu of flowers, Roy had asked for donations to be made to a charity of your choice to pass on good works..
