Ronald Neal, 84, was called home on April 15, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his wife Judy Neal, daughters Kelley (Dean) Miller and Krysten (Scott) Reel, brother Jerry (Marie) Neal, six grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, a long list of other family, and his faithful dog, Maggie.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Kraig Neal, and many other friends and family.
He was a millwright before retiring after 40 years. He enjoyed the great outdoors, and loved fishing, gardening, camping, and working in the garage with various projects. Always willing and able, he was an excellent handyman and car mechanic at home. Traveling was one of his great joys, and he was always ready to visit new places. Ron was also a music lover and enjoyed singing his favorite hymns and country songs. As a long time region resident, he was a true blue Cubs fan, rarely missing a game. He stood steadfast in his faith in God and was an active member of Life Point Church, Hammond Campus. He never knew a stranger, only friends he hadn't met yet, and always went above and beyond to help anyone he could.
A celebration of life will be held from 3:00pm to 7:00pm with a funeral service at 7:00pm on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) in Highland, IN.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Life Point church or the American Cancer Society.
