Rose M Lopez

Rose M Lopez, 90, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2023. She is survived by her loving children: Guadalupe (Augustine) Chapa, Jesus “Chuey” Lopez, Salvador (Sally) Lopez, Margarita (Isidro) Flores and loving grandchildren: Rudy (Dawn) Gonzalez, Lauryn (Sean) Hildebrand, Ashley Flores, Christine (Abhishek) Maini, Isabel Flores, Gina Chapa, Esperanza Flores, Ezra Lopez, Simon Lopez, Titus Lopez, Anna Lopez, Rose “Rosie” Lopez, and 5 great grandchildren. Preceded in passing by her husband Salvador Lopez, daughter Blanca (Gary) Lopez-Gordon, and parents Juvenal & Celia Everett. 

Rose was born on October 13, 1933 in Laredo, Texas. She became a lifelong resident of East Chicago, IN once after she married her loving husband, Salvador. She was a long time member of St. John Cantius Catholic Church. She devoted her time to her beloved grandchildren and always talked about how each one was unique. She enjoyed the holidays singing along to her favorite Andrea Bocelli songs. She was greatly loved and deeply cherished by her family and friends and will forever be missed. 

Visitation will be Friday, November 17, 2023 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN 46322 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 10:00am with Father Jaime Perea officiating. Burial services will be held at St. John St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, 1547 167th St,  Hammond, IN 46320.
