Ruth A. Gindl

Ruth A. Gindl age 64, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026 

She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Gindl; children, Maria Gindl (Damon), Adam (Stephanie) Gindl; grandchildren, Charlotte Bonner-Gindl; brother, Mark (Crystal) Jacobsen;    in-laws, Jerome (Emalie) Gindl; sister in-law, Jeanne (James) Gindl-Mrzlock; numerous nephews, nieces, lap dog Gunner and many loving caring friends.

Preceded in death by parents, Geraldine and Donald Jacobsen. 

Ruth was born August 21, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois and was a graduate of Lake Central High School. On June 29, 1987, she married Thomas Gindl and together they shared 38 beautiful years together in Griffith raising a family. She was well appreciated and enjoyed working with the staff at Orthopedic Specialist of Northwest Indiana. 

Ruth was a member of the Griffith VEST. She enjoyed reading, listening to music, camping, boating, fishing and numerous other hobbies, but most of all loved spending time with her children and granddaughter. 

Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, sister in-law, aunt and friend, and will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched.  

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Home,  8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church, 525 N Broad Street, Griffith, IN.

Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville IN.
