Samuel Swinney

Samuel (Sonny) Edwin Swinney, age 81, Passed away November 13, 2022. He is survived by his wife Cathy, son Quinton (Ashlee), Daughter Cindy St John (Jamie), Stepdaughter Crystal Lynn Lester, all of NC, Sister Patricia Deering (Dan) Hammond, IN and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Samuel was preceded in death by his father Samuel Swinney, mother Dorothy Cota, two sons Tommy and Samuel Jr, and two daughters Sandrea and Tammy.

Samuel was a self-employed construction worker. His favorite job was rehabbing houses. Many can be found in the Chicago-Gary area.

Samuel was an artist. He loved to paint roses the best. He gave many paintings away to people who would ask. 

Samuel accepted the Lord as his savior and became an ordained minister. Everywhere he went he evangelized for Jesus. He never left home without his cap that said, “I Love Jesus.”

Samuel was a loving, caring man and he will be missed.

Visitation will be held at the Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Rd), Highland, IN 46322 on Thursday, November 17, 2022, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am with the funeral service following immediately at 10am.
