Santos Hernandez

Santos Hernandez, 65, of Gary/Black Oak, IN, passed away peacefully with the love of his life right by his side on Saturday January 22nd, 2022. Santos was born in San Benito, Texas on June 6, 1956 to the late Elias and Olivia Hernandez(Flores). Santos is survived by his loving wife, Vivian Hernandez(Sovinski), his two children Adrienne(Sean)Hernandez-Lovell of Hobart,IN and Jurray Hernandez of Westville,IN. He also leaves behind his three precious joys, his grandchildren, Sean Jr, Ava and June Lovell. He is also survived by his sisters, Lupe(Louis)Perez, Mary Hernandez, Jane Hernandez, all of Gary, Olivia(Rick)Fritsche of Hobart and his brothers Greg Hernandez and Frank(Jessica)Hernandez. Numerous Nieces and nephews and we must not forget the many well loved friends he shared so many memories with. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, and his brothers Joseph Hernandez, Lee Hernandez and John Hernandez. Santos was a “good dude” who never failed to make friends everywhere he went. He was a jokester, always making people laugh. He took pride in his grandbabies and his three crazy dogs. Santos had a lot of hobbies. He enjoyed working in his yard and garden, fishing with his buddies and a good time with family and friends. Our hearts are broken, we lost a very strong man and he was strong until the end. But he would want everyone to smile and share a good memory or maybe…a tall tale. We love you Santos my husband, Dad, Papa…..until we meet again. Heroes get remembered, but legends never die.
