Scott R. Scofield, 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2025.
He is survived by his loving wife, Annie Scofield; his daughter, Chelsea (Tyler) Wilson; his son, Robert (Sarah) Beach; grandchildren, Denver Hall and Louchian Hall; his sister, Tracey (John) Van Vuren Domka; his nephew, Alex (Amy) Van Vuren; his niece, Max Van Vuren; additional family members, lifelong friends, and beloved pets Buddy, Ollie, and Rosie.
Preceded in death by parents Ronald Scofield and Phyllis Scofield; grandparents Leroy & Mabel Scofield and Elwood & Helen Taylor; and lifelong friend, Keith Dittrich.
Scott was born November 5, 1958 in Hammond, IN. He was a 1977 graduate of Griffith High School and a 1995 graduate of Purdue University. On August 26, 1978, he married the love of his life Annie Scofield, and together they shared 46 years settling in Griffith to raise their daughter. When she began high school, he found passion in his work as a bookkeeper at Dittrich’s Auto Clinic, working with his best friend, Keith.
Throughout his life, Scott had many hobbies, from hunting and fishing, to singing and drumming in bands, to off-roading and riding his motorcycle. He was happiest when sharing a hug with a loved one, a laugh with a friend, or a quiet moment in nature, especially at Hutchins Lake.
Scott was a loving and protective husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be truly missed by all whose lives he touched.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN, 46322.
