Sharon K. Guinn

Sharon K. Guinn, age 81, born October 27, 1944, in Boonville, Indiana, passed away on July 6, 2026. A longtime resident of Hammond, Indiana, she was the youngest of seven children and grew up surrounded by family, love, and the values that would guide her throughout her life.

Sharon attended Boonville High School and later moved to Hammond, Indiana, where she built a long and dedicated career as an underwriter with Guarantee Reserve Life Insurance Company. She worked there for more than 30 years before retiring.

Sharon had a special love for animals and found great joy in being a devoted dog mom, cherishing each of her beloved pets over the years. Throughout her life, her greatest joy came from her faith and her family. She was a deeply devoted member of New Life Community Church in Hammond, where she found a warm and caring community of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Bertha Guinn, and five of her siblings.

Sharon is survived by her sister, Betty; her nieces, Kristine Mohr and Suzy Sparks; her great-niece and great-nephew, Victoria Mohr and Joseph Mohr; and her great-great-niece, Layla Mohr.

Sharon will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her love of family, her kindness, and the gentle companionship she shared with the pets she loved so dearly. She had a gentle spirit and a kind heart, treating everyone she met with warmth and compassion.  Her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew and loved her.

A service to honor Sharon’s life will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at New Life Community Church, 1116 Hoffman Street, Hammond, IN 46327.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Life Community Church in Sharon’s memory.
