Sheilia Anne (nee Virag) Hayden MacKeigan

Sheilia Anne Hayden MacKeigan (nee Virag), age 83, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025

She is survived by her children, Dawn (Chris) Roussey, Jim (Charmie) Hayden, John (Chris) Hayden and Beth Hayden; grandchildren, Hana (Payton) Campbell, Justin Hayden, Ollie Hayden, Gemma Hayden and Zoe Roussey; sister, Jill Petty; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Dale MacKeigan and her parents, John and Barbara Virag.

Sheilia was born September 9, 1942 in East Chicago, IN. She graduated from Morton High School, IU Northwest and Valparaiso Law School. 

Sheilia enjoyed spending time with friends, family and animals, playing her ukulele with different groups, cooking and reading. 

A Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, Indiana from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm.

A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3:30 pm with Rev. Charles Niblick officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Independent Cat Society in Westville, IN to honor the memory of Sheilia.
