Shirley Ann Isolampi (Hales), aged 87, of Merrillville, peacefully passed away with her family by her side. She was born on April 18, 1939, in Gary, Indiana, to the late Henry and Minnie (Roller) Hales.
Shirley dedicated her time as a volunteer and gift shop clerk at Methodist Hospital South Campus. She was devoted to caring for her mother-in-law and her beloved mother, Minnie. Shirley cherished her family and friends deeply, and her presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Shirley was taking chemo treatments for cancer of the bile ducts. Any donations can be made to the National Heart Association, or Cancer Centers.
Surviving Shirley are her daughter, Shari Isolampi-Smith; son, Matt Brian Isolampi and his wife July, and sons, Mitchell and Edward; daughter-in-law, Paula Isolampi with son Cameron; brother-in-law, Michael Kozak with daughters Marla Edwards and Tracie Shannep; along with many other dear nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her husband Gene Edward Isolampi; son, Mark Isolampi: siblings, Minnie Jane, Warren, Homer, Robert, and Henry George; grandson, Tristan Isolampi; and sister-in-law, Patsy Kozak.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, May 12, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Hillside Funeral Home, located at 8941 Kleinman Road, Highland, Indiana 46322, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm. Shirley will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Crown Point.
