Shirley Ann (Flatter) Miles

Shirley Ann Miles (née Flatter), 82, of Griffith, Indiana, passed away July 17, 2026.  She was born on January 16, 1944, in Owensboro, Kentucky.

She is survived by her brother, Darrell Flatter (Sandra) of West Chicago, Illinois; her sister-in-law, Pam Flatter of Tulsa, Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her very dear friend, Sarah Colias. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne “Brusie” Miles; her brother, John Flatter; and her parents, Lowell “Gene” and Altha Flatter. 

Shirley will be remembered for her kindness, her beautiful smile, her sense of humor, her infectious laugh, her love and loyalty to family and friends, and the steadfast faith in God that guided her throughout her life.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Rd), Highland, Indiana, with a funeral service immediately following. 

Burial will take place at the Miles Cemetery in Fordsville, Kentucky.
