Shirley Mae Zylo

Shirley Mae Zylo (nee Schwader) age 87 of Griffith, IN, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.

Preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Zylo Sr.; son, Frankie Kuntz; parents, Emil and Ethel Schwader and sisters, Joanne Stratton and Laverne Krueger.

Survived by her brother, Robert Schwader of Portage, IN; four children, Debbie (Terry) Harper of Chesapeake, VA, Barb (Bill) Zylo of Gary, IN, Rose (Terry) Gass of Highland, IN and Richard L. Zylo Jr. of Griffith, IN; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Shirley was at her happiest while outdoors hosting a yard sale or discovering a new knick-knack on a sunny day. She had an affinity for horses and musicals, loved a good Hallmark movie and never missed an episode of General Hospital. A strong loving mother and grandmother, she will live on in our cherished memories.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023 beginning at 10:00 AM followed by a time of family sharing at 12:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Road) Highland , IN.

Interment to follow at Memory Lane Memorial Park, Crown Point, IN.
