Soledad Cerdeña Magcale passed away peacefully on April 15, 2024 at the age of 71.
Sol was born on March 16, 1953 in Biñan, Laguna Philippines. She came to the United States in 1998 with the purpose of donating her bone marrow to her brother Manuel “Kemboy” Magcale. Her bond with her family was one of her greatest joys and she always went out of her way to support her siblings. Though she never had children of her own, Sol poured her love and care into her nieces and nephews. She was a second mother to her beloved niece Jona and nephew Justin. She also cared for the Ifergan family for over 20 years.
Known for her generous spirit and unwavering kindness, Sol left a mark on everyone she met. She found joy in gardening, cooking Filipino food, and shopping. Her loyal spirit and hard work was admired by all.
Sol was a loving daughter, sister, tita (aunt), and friend to many. She is survived by her siblings Lilia Magcale Tengco, Manuel Magcale, Lualhati Magcale Zavala, Jesusita Magcale David, Josephine Magcale Jimenez, Ofelia Magcale Vibar, Erlie Magcale Ranosa, and Edna Magcale Rivera in addition to many nieces and nephews.
Soledad is preceded in death by her parents Serapio and Magdalena Magcale and brother Pepe Magcale.
Visitation will be Friday, April 26, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8941 Kleinman Rd(one block south of Ridge Rd), Highland, IN 46322. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, April 27, 2024 10:00am (viewing) 10:30am (mass) at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 1 W Wilhelm St, Schererville, IN 46375.
