Stella Mae Zell was born on August 8, 1938, in South Bend, Indiana. She passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, while residing in Hammond, Indiana, with her loving family at her side.
Stella was a strong yet sweet woman whose kindness, resilience, and gentle spirit touched all who knew her. She lived an amazing and meaningful life rooted in love, family, and devotion. Her strength carried her through life’s many seasons, and her warmth created lasting memories for generations.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her devoted son, Dewayne Zell; her seven cherished grandchildren, John Carl Gray, Brittany Jenks, Michael Jenks, Philothea Zell, Annette Zell, Jackee Zell, and Evangelina Zell; and her beloved great-grandson, Zaire Garcia, who will continue to carry forward her spirit and values.
Stella’s presence brought comfort, wisdom, and joy to her family and friends. Though she is deeply missed, her love and influence will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Her life will forever be remembered and lovingly celebrated.
