Steven Michael Heintz, age 55, of Hobart, Indiana, formerly of Lansing, Illinois passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026. He was born on April 25, 1970, in Harvey, Illinois to Ralph and Alma (nee Murray) Heintz.
Steven was a graduate of Thornton Fractional High School. He loved spending time exploring the outdoors. His passions were fishing, gardening, caring for God’s creatures, playing cards, but mostly spending time with family and friends. Steven knew no strangers and was the quintessential “friend next door” having an exceptional soft spot for the elderly and veterans.
Steven is survived by his loving parents; Ralph and Alma Heintz; brother, Ralph Heintz Jr; sister, Dana (James) Surd; loving nieces Hailey, Nicole, and Sydney Surd; longtime friend James Bode; and many aunts and cousins.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Church, 3500 Glenwood Lansing Rd., Lansing, Illinois. Luncheon immediately to follow.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of your choice in Steven’s honor would be appreciated.
