Susan Jean Newman

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved mother, Susan J. Newman, who left us on October 9, 2025, at the age of 81. While we grieve deeply, we are comforted knowing she has gone to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born on January 27, 1944, in New Jersey, Susan was the daughter of Gertrude and Silvio Mazzarelli. She lived a life marked by love, compassion, and generosity — a devoted mother, cherished friend, and dedicated teacher who touched countless lives with her warmth, humor, and unwavering support.

Susan was the heart of our family — the one we turned to in moments of need, and the one who celebrated our every joy. Whether through her unforgettable laugh or her gift for making everyone feel at home, her presence was truly a blessing. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially during family gatherings. She enjoyed game nights with her friends, participating in Bible studies, and reading — simple pleasures that brought her great joy and connection.

We will gather to celebrate her life on October 15, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at Immanuel Presbyterian Church. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend. We will have a service at 5:00 pm and a reception starting at 6:00. 

Mom, we love you beyond words and miss you beyond measure.

Susan is survived by her children, David (Michelle), Sue (Tim), and Carolyn (Robert); her grandchildren, Ben, Nicholas, Katie, Alexander, Bella, and Adam; and her great-grandchildren, Maverick and Declan — all of whom will carry her legacy forward with love and pride.
