Susan Louise Paz

Susan Louise Paz (nee Swaim), age 77, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024 surrounded by loved ones.
Susan is survived by her loving partner of 27 years, Nate Underhill; children, Harold Paz, Edward (Jessica) Paz, Brian (Jessica) Paz, and Sharon Paz; grandchildren, Halen Paz, Gabriel Paz Drew, Angelo Paz, and Michael Paz; siblings, Ellen (Richard) Mikus, Terence Swaim, and Rosemary Nolan; and numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Louise Swaim; brother, baby Harold; son, William Paz, and former husband, Henry Paz.
Susan was born February 3, 1947 in East Chicago, Indiana and was a 1965 graduate of Bishop Noll High School in Hammond. She had a career in banking with Calumet National Bank in Munster and Hammond that spanned multiple decades.
Susan was a proud and loving parent to her five children and could often be found volunteering for them during their school years. She was den mother with the Cub Scouts for all of her sons.
Susan was also a lover of the many dogs she had over the years. But nothing brought her more joy than her involvement in her grandchildren’s lives. Susan enjoyed music and would frequently attend live music events. She could often be found chasing sunsets and reviewing menus of her favorite restaurants.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Road) Highland, Indiana.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Keith M. Virus officiating.

Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond Indiana.
