Sylvia Armanda (Norrick) Almaraz

Sylvia A. Almaraz age 79, peacefully passed away on Wednesday March 12, 2025.

She is survived by her loving husband, Lupe; children, Norma Almaraz, Jeff (Lisa) Almaraz, Michele (Jim) Almaraz Troncin; grandchildren, Christopher (Caroline) Almaraz, Jessica Almaraz, Gina (Brandon) Almaraz Keaton, Anthony Hauprich and Alyssa Hauprich; brothers, Gene (Alicia) Norrick and Don (Charlotte) Norrick.

Preceded in death by parents, Veachel and Pilar Norrick and sister, Judy (Larry) Waldrop. 

Sylvia was born on September 24,1945 in East Chicago, IN and was a graduate of Wheatfield High School. On June 26th,1965, she married the love of her life, Lupe Almaraz. Together they shared over 60 years of marriage settling in Highland IN to raise their family. 

She enjoyed playing bunco, having luncheons with her high school friends, bus tours and casinos. Also, she was an active member of the Red Hat Society and The Silver Sneakers, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 beginning at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00pm with Pastor Don Norrick officiating at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN.

Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN.
