Tammy Gastaut, age 62, of Hammond, Indiana, peacefully passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026.

She is survived by her loving life partner, Bill Zaikias; her daughter, Jessica (Eric) Baker; grandchildren, Noah and Addison Baker; her dear sister, Lisa (Richard) Lindich; cherished nephew, Daniel (Alex) Lindich and special cousins, Jody (Steven) DenHartog and Mallory DenHartog. 

She was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Susan Gastaut. 

Tammy was born on September 13, 1963, in Hammond, Indiana. She was very intelligent and often at the top of her class graduating from Thornton Fractional North High School in 1982. She later became a phlebotomist, a career that she enjoyed very much. When illness prevented her from continuing her work, she devoted her time to volunteering at the hospital, a role she deeply loved. She was a God - loving Christian with a deep and abiding faith. She was happiest spending time with family and friends and especially treasured the devotion and care of her life partner, Bill. Together, they enjoyed visiting their favorite restaurants and coffee shops. Tammy also loved the outdoors and spent many days soaking up the sunshine.

Tammy was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched. 

Services will be private.
