Tammy Mathews Obituary

Tammy Elaine Mathews, age 58, peacefully passed away Sunday, January 25th, 2026.

She is survived by her devoted, loving husband James “Jimbo” Mathews; children, Amber White (partner Nick) and James Mathews; grandchildren, Hannah Pendley (fiance, Jacob), Hailey (Elton) Pendley-Garrett, Mason Pendley, Avery Mathews, Ryan Bruce, Penelope Mathews, River Mathews, Elias Mathews, Holden Mathews; great-granddaughter, Oakley Marie-James Garrett; parents, Gerald and Deborah Kinley; siblings, Kim Hudkins, Derick Kinley (partner Tanya), Anthony (Stephanie) Kinley, Gerald “Booper” Kinley; many nieces and nephews, and friends that she loved dearly.

Tammy was preceded in death by grandparents, Cleaties and La Faye Matlock, Mildred (Kinley) Bunch.

Tammy was born December 31, 1967 in Hammond, Indiana. In December of 1984 she gave birth to her only daughter, Amber, who she loved dearly. On July 20th, 2002 she married her best friend and love of her life James “Jimbo” Mathews surrounded by the ones they loved most.

She worked at the same location for over 30 years, starting as a waitress at Pascal’s Pizza. Her hard work, dedication, dependability, availability, and perseverance awarded her a position as manager which carried over when the same location closed as Pascal’s Pizza and reopened as Aurelio’s Pizza, where she worked as manager until she was no longer able.

She enjoyed camping every summer with family, going to the beach, fuzz follies car show, family dinners, holidays with family, grandkids school events and games, driving their jeeps “topless”, going to jeep club meets and parades, and she definitely loved jeeps and javas on Saturdays. She was a member of N.W. Indiana Jeepers jeep club.

Tammy was a devoted and loving mother, wife, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will absolutely be missed by so many people. She could light up any room she walked in and was truly loved by everyone she met. She will be forever remembered and deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.

Celebration of life date to be determined.
