Theresa M. Krieter

Theresa M. Krieter, age 66, of Highland, IN, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025. Theresa was born on March 8, 1958.

She is survived by her loving mother, Paula A. Krieter; three sisters, Janeen (Rob) DeLaney, Diane (Rich) Reddington, May (Bob) Barton, three brothers, Joe (Kathy) Krieter, Tim (Lori) Krieter, and Dan (Sandy) Krieter. Theresa is a beloved aunt to numerous nieces, nephews, great niece, and great nephews. Preceded in death by her loving father, Charles "Chuck" Krieter.

Theresa was a member of St Mary Catholic Church in Griffith, IN. She grew up in Hessville (Hammond) Indiana and graduated from Morton Senior High School in 1976. She worked at Vierk's Furniture in Hammond as a receptionist and then worked at Goodwill in Hammond. She attended The Hadley School For The Blind, where she learned braille.

In spite of losing her eyesight at an early age, Theresa did not let that stop her from doing things that she enjoyed, like crocheting baby afghan blankets for her nieces and nephews. She had a tandem bike so she could go for bike rides. She went on Hot Air Balloon rides and parasailing. With assistance from her sisters Theresa went hiking and canoeing. Theresa's brothers had coaxed her into snow skiing and even driving a tractor. She even convinced her friend to take her fishing. Everyone that knew Theresa knew she loved anything with Snoopy!!!

Theresa always accepted her health issues and no one ever heard her complain or pity herself. Theresa was a true Angel on earth and now she is an Angel in Heaven. Theresa was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, Godmother, and friend. She will be truly missed by all those lives she touched.

Visitation will be on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd, Highland, IN, 46322 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a 3:30 pm Prayer Service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at St Mary Catholic Church, 525 N Broad St, Griffith, IN, 46319 at 10:00 am with Visitation at the church beginning at 9:00 am until time of mass.
