Thomas Dale Lolkema Sr. aged 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
He is survived by his loving wife Janet Lolkema; children, John (Debbie) Lolkema, Tom (Dawn) Lolkema Jr., Jake Lolkema, Troy (Melissa) Lolkema, and Dan (Elicia) Lolkema; grandchildren Kayla (Nathan) Stamp, Natalie Lolkema, Brandon (Angelica) Lolkema, Nicole Piechna, Jerica Piechna, Allena (Kyle) Belec, Olivia Lolkema, Troy (Sumer) Lolkema Jr., Skylar (David) Coy, Vaughn (Gerardo) Corral, Autumn(Preston) Lolkema, Holly(Tyler) Farney, and Ofelia Lolkema; great-grandchildren, Trish Stamp, Maggie and Mason Santos, Addison, Gracie, and Josie Coy and Atticus Farney; brothers, Jim (Karen) Lolkema, and Melvin (Gale) Lolkema and sister Julia Lolkema, sister in law Elynor DeVries, and brother in law Jack (Pat) DeVries; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by parents, John and Grace Lolkema, brother Pete (Joan) Lolkema, and sister Sharon (Lowell) Damron, as well as two infant daughters and a granddaughter Rachel Lolkema.
Dale (Thomas) was born March 28, 1942 in Hammond, Indiana. He attended Griffith Senior High School and then went on to drive a tanker truck for Mobile Oil and retired after 30 years. He married Janet Devries on November 2, 1963 and together raised their five boys and lived happily watching their family grow. They celebrated 62 wonderful years of marriage and were dedicated members of 1st Christian Church of Highland now Faith Church.
Dale loved his family, spending time outdoors in any weather, fishing, and his tractors.
Dale was a devoted husband, loving son, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center at 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Rd), Highland, IN, 46322 from 9:00AM to 11:00AM. Funeral services will follow directly.
