Thomas C. Ondas

Thomas C. Ondas, 82, of Highland passed away March 26, 2026.  He was born April 18, 1943, to John and Julia (Jarek) Ondas of Hammond, Indiana.

Thomas was a graduate of Hammond Technical Vocational High School and earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Education from Purdue University. He was an outstanding & dedicated math teacher for the gifted and talented at Wilbur Wright Middle School for 31 years from August 1966 - June 1998.  

He is survived by siblings Kenneth (Margaret) Ondas, John (Cindy) Ondas, and Barbara (Ray-deceased) Manis. He was the loving uncle to 6 nieces/nephews and 9 great-nieces/nephews including Sue Ondas, Michael (Susan) Ondas and their sons Austin and Jarod, Karen Smith and her sons Evan and Nate, Bryan (Mindy) Ondas and their daughter Hannah, Philip Ondas and his daughters Toni Marie and Sally, and Michelle Boston and her daughters Fiona and Vivian.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026 from 9:45 am to 10:30 am at St James the Less Catholic Church, at 9640 Kennedy Avenue. Funeral services will be held following visitation at 10:30 am. Interment will be at Holy Cross Catholic cemetery in Calumet City, IL.
