Timothy A. Troxel

Timothy A Troxel of Westfield, IN (formerly of Highland, IN) passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, surrounded by his family. As an electrician and retiree from US Steel in Gary and subsequently Birmingham Steel in Joliet, he left behind a legacy of hard work and disciplined life. He left behind his wife of 60 years, Joan and three children: Kent (Marie) Troxel of Highland, IN, Jeff (Dawn) Troxel of Menomonee Falls, WI and Heidi (Brian) Dunkin of Westfield, IN.

Known as ‘Papa’ to his 9 grandchildren: Grant, Megan, Micheal, Jordan, Trenton, Luke, Andrew, Allyse and Brooke, as well as 9 great-grandchildren, he brought joy and fun to each of them. Through time spent as a group and individually he offered words of encouragement and a bright example of life lived with purpose.

His life will be celebrated with a visitation at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Ave in Highland, IN on September 5th, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 am on September 6th, 2025, with interment following at Calumet Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
