Tina Marie Harkema (Harshaw), 48 years of age, of Saint John, Indiana, passed on to be with Jesus on January 2, 2020.
She is survived by her loving husband, Rick, her loving daughters, Elly, Abby, and Samy, her mother Anne Harshaw, father Don Harshaw, sister Melissa Gaal (Joe), father and mother-in-law Randy and Wendy Harkema, sister-in-law Heidi Boender (Pete), brother-in-law Kyle Harkema (Becca), grandmother Edna Femmer, grandparents Jacob and Jean Venhuizen, loving nephews and nieces Calvin, Ethan, and Nolan Boender, Eadyn and Arabella Gaal, Evey Harkema and cherished friends.
She was preceded in death by her sons, John Reed Harkema and Jacob Richard Harkema, grandparents John and Esther Harkema, Adolph and Varena Wells, and Arley Femmer.
Tina was born August 17, 1971 in Saint Charles Missouri. She had a Bachelor's in Accounting from Purdue University. Before her sons were born, she worked as an accountant for Providence Home Care and recently she worked as a server at Battistas in Crown Point, Indiana.
Tina's life was her faith, her family, LCB swimming, the Seekers 4H club, and teacher for her girls. She also was an avid quilter and camper. She loved the Lord with all her heart, soul, mind, strength, and loved others as well.
Visitation will be January 11, 2020 at Bethel Church, 13620 Wicker Ave. Cedar Lake, IN from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Services will be held at 1:00 pm. Family is requesting no flowers. Donations or gifts of love can be made to Bethel Church Harvest Market, Phil's Friends, the Seekers 4H Club of Leroy, IN, or Lake Central Barracudas Swim Club.
A Gift of Grace Fund has been set up at First Financial Bank, 2750 45th St. Highland, IN, 46322. Gifts will help cover unexpected expenses. Checks may be made payable to Tina Harkema Memorial.
John 10:27-29 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them and they follow me and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My father who has given them to me is greater than all and no one is able to snatch them out of the father's hand.
