In Loving Memory of Tony Irvin
Tony, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 51 years, Carol; his three children—Neil, Joshua, and Wendy (Paul); grandchildren—Lauren, Jake, Allie, Tyler, Andrew, Ella, Matthew, Orchid, and Dahlia; great-grandchildren—Landon, Asher, River, and Willow; His mother—Lorraine; siblings— Pam (Mike) and Sharon. All of whom adored his mischievous grin and endless supply of jokes.
Tony worked at Chicago Heights Steel for 38 years, where his dedication and strong work ethic made a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He was also a proud member of the Izaak Walton League of America for over 50 years, reflecting his lifelong love for the outdoors. His favorite pastimes included fishing, scrapping, gardening, and crafting outdoor decorations from recycled materials—always finding creative ways to bring new life to old things.
At home, Tony found peace in simple joys—especially his birds. He was an avid bird watcher who made sure the feeders were always full. While the squirrels constantly raided his birdseed and drove him crazy, deep down he had a soft spot for them too. That small, familiar scene captured who he was: patient, caring, and full of quiet humor. The family lovingly carries on his tradition of keeping the backyard birds (and yes, the squirrels) well-fed.
Known for his sharp wit and dark sense of humor, Tony could find laughter in any situation and made sure those around him did too. He lived life on his own terms—boldly, fully, and without regret. Whether he was sharing a joke, offering a helping hand, or simply enjoying the company of family and friends, he brought light and laughter wherever he went.
His legacy is one of love, laughter, and living life to the fullest. Though he will be deeply missed, his humor, spirit, and stories will live on in all who were lucky enough to know him.
A celebration of Tony’s life will be held on Friday, November 14th, 2025 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center located at 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, Indiana with a Funeral Service at 11:00 am.
