Vicente Guillermo “Memo” Villarreal was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico on February 10,1952. He moved to California in 1967, where he met the love of his life, Isabel in Santa Rosa, CA in 1970. They later married on January 13, 1971. They recently celebrated their 50th anniversary this year 2021.
They later moved to Indiana in 1972, where they rooted themselves to raise their family. He was a lifelong resident of Hammond, Indiana. Vicente worked at Inland Steel and was a member of USW Local 1010 for 34 years, from 1972 and retired in 2007. He became a U.S. citizen in 2010 and was also a current member of the Community Christian Church of Chicago. He loved watching movies and instilled the importance of family.
Vicente is preceded in death by his parents, Vicente Villarreal Soto and Carmen Banda Gil de Villarreal.
Vicente is survived by his wife Isabel Villarreal; sisters Blanca Villarreal Banda and Clara Sonia Villarreal Gallegos (Juan); children Vicente G. Villarreal II, Dayanara O. Villarreal-Brown (Kyle Brown), Tait Villarreal (Rebecca Mendez),
and Ulani I. Muniz (Carlos Muniz III), including Beatriz Mendoza (Noe M.), Patricia Velez (Hector V.), and Aaron Rodriguez (Sally R.); grandchildren Isaias Martinez, Yvonne Villarreal (Brandon Tate), Liliana Mendez, Ayaneli Martinez, Angelica Villarreal, Tait Villarreal Jr., Sofia Villarreal, Leilani Muniz, Tatiana Villarreal, Uriah Muniz and Avianna Muniz; great grandchildren Aliyah Tate & Alina Tate; as well as, many extended family and friends.
Vicente departed from this life on Friday, April 23, 2021, at Community Hospital in Munster, Indiana at the age of 69. He left behind a legacy. He was known for always helping others and preaching the word of God. He always left a lasting impression on everyone that met him.

Visitation will be Friday, April 30, 2021, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman. Rd in Highland, IN, 46322. Funeral Service will be Saturday, May 1, 2021 10:00 am at the funeral home, burial Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN.
