Virginia Krizan Obituary

Virginia R. Krizan, 90, of Hessville, IN passed away peacefully in her sleep at Community Hospital on Tuesday, July 7th due to Parkinson’s complications. She is survived by son, David Krizan, daughter, Linda (Frank) George; grandchildren Brian (Meryl) George, Michael George and Matt (Katie) George; great grandchildren Tyler, Brianna, Brayden, Brian Jr, Timmy, Tommy and Addison George, Alexis, Steven Johannsen, Megan Shank; great great grandson Leo Johannsen; brother Floyd (Erlene) Phelps of Beaver Dam KY, sister Ruth Raymond of Lake of the Four Seasons, IN. and numerous nieces/nephews. Preceded in death by beloved husband, Louis Krizan; parents Elbert and Emily Phelps, brother and sister-in-law, Elmer and Josephine Phelps, brother-in-law Clarence Raymond and grandson David George.

She was born September 23, 1929 to Albert and Emily Phelps in Beaver Dam, KY. The family moved to Robertsdale, IN where she graduated from Whiting High School. Later she married Louis Krizan and moved to Hessville where they raised their family. After the children were in school Virginia worked at Rand McNally as a book inspector. In her free time she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, reading, bowling, cooking for the family, flower gardening and working on her yard. While she loved everyone her greatest passion was watching her grandchildren grow. She never missed a little league baseball game that her grandson’s were playing in and even made it to her great grandson’s T-ball games. She loved to spend time with her grand and great grandkids as they always brought a smile to her face. Another passion of hers was watching her teams, the Bulls, Bears and Cubs. She always watched them on tv and even got to go with son-in-law and grandkids to a Bulls game live. She was a long time member of the Orchard Drive Baptist Church. She was a caring, loving and beautiful person, great mom and grandma and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
