Wade Edward Bell

Wade Edward Bell age 60 passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.

Wade was born August 11, 1962, in East Chicago, Indiana. He was raised and resided in the Black Oak area of Gary, Indiana and attended Lake Ridge School systems. Starting at the age of 9, Wade enjoyed working on automobiles. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, concerts, gathering with family and he was a huge Chicago Bears fan. He also loved classic rock music and chocolate.

He adored his dog Peaches and will be fondly remembered as a fun-loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He opened his heart and home and was a father figure to many.

Wade is survived by the love of his life, Myrtha Smith; daughters, Tara Smith and Melissa (Johnny) Gist;  9 grandchildren including Madison and Marissa Gist and 2 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his father, Iving Bell, eight siblings, Rita (John) Mason, Anita (Deb) Hall, Reba (Rick) Crum, Craig (Connie) Bell, Renee (Billy) Johnson, Brandon (Kelli) Bell, Brandy Lohse and Phil (Cori) Bridegroom along with many nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his mother, Betty Jean Bell; stepmother, MaryEllen Bell, daughter, Sherry Schmidt, grandparents and nephew, Chris Stephens.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 12:00 PM with a funeral service at 3:15 PM at Hillside Funeral Home, 8941 Kleinman Road, Highland IN.

In lieu of flowers monetary donations will be greatly appreciated to help cover funeral expenses.
