Wallace L. Taylor, age 78, of Hobart, IN (formerly of Griffith, IN) passed away on Sunday, January 11th, 2026, with his daughters by his side.
Wallace is survived by his daughters, Monica (Jeff) Harder and Stephanie (Mike) Szmuc along with his grandson, Zachary Szmuc. Preceded in death by his wife, Diana to whom he was married to for 52 years.
Dad, your fierce battle against cancer will guide us for the rest of our lives as our example to always “do the best we can” in everything we do. You and Mom will always be our heroes. We will miss your crazy sense of humor. Despite all that you were enduring you continued to laugh, made us laugh when we wanted to cry, and left a lasting impression on everyone that you met. We hope you are taking long bicycle rides in heaven. We will be comforted knowing that you are reunited with Mom and your parents.
Per our Dad’s wishes, his service will be private.
Donations may be made in his memory to Hospice of the Calumet Area.
