Warren Benko

Warren Benko age 81, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 2nd, 2025.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Benko; children Scott Benko (Kim), Greg Benko (Marie) and Jeff Benko (Christine); grandchildren Lexi and Garrett Benko; siblings Gayle Schillo (Keith) and Robert Benko (Paulette); numerous nieces, nephews, “The Zebra Crew” and dear friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Fran Benko.

Warren was born in Hammond, IN and was a 1962 graduate of Bishop Noll High School. He married the love of his life Kathleen Benko on May 6, 1967 and together they shared 58 years of marriage while settling in Highland to raise their family. Warren retired from Safeco American States then worked part-time at Cardinal Heath.

He enjoyed officiating sports, golfing and fishing, though his most treasured time was watching his grandchildren play softball and baseball.

Warren was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road Highland, IN. Funeral Service Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 10:00 at Saint Maria Goretti in Dyer, IN

Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 8178 S Cline Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307.
