Wayne Robert Conn husband of Linda Kay Conn nee Gleason passed away on November 10, 2019. Wayne of Hammond, Indiana was born in Jasper County, IN to the late Robert L. Conn and Patricia E. Conn nee Tastad. He was the only son with one older sister Linda Casselman and 3 younger sisters Kathleen (Scot) Ellison, Colleen (Stuart) Sheets, and Amy (Brian) Kile. He graduated from Highland High School in 1968. After graduation he started a family having two children Mitchell (Judi) Conn and Shauna (Jonathan) Weller. They later gave him four grandchildren. Jordan and Aaron Conn, Raini (Levi) Lebaron and Lincoln Weller. As an excellent mechanic he used his skills to open his own garage Wayne's Automotive with the help of his wife Linda in Hammond, IN. Wayne was a long time die hard Cubs fan. He loved to be the life of the party by telling jokes, singing karaoke and quoting his favorite phrase “Are you kidding me, I ate a dead frog once, I didn't throw up." Wayne left behind his loving wife of 20 years Linda Conn and the children she brought into their marriage Raymond (Melissa) Strain, Michael (Catherine) Strain, Lynda Strain (Steve), Misty (Fred) Akers, and Tiffany (Felix) Gonzalez. Between them they gave Wayne and Linda 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is proceeded in death, by his one true mentor and hero Mitchell P. Kotels, who he named his son after.

In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations to help cover the memorial expenses.

The service will be held on Friday, November 15th, 2019 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm with a service at 5:00 pm. It will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 300 W Wirth Rd, Griffith, IN 46319.
